Reiji is a powerful combatant with a wide variety of expertise. He is the only perfect All-Rounder in Border (6000 ore more points for at least one Attacker, Gunner, and Sniper Trigger)[citation needed], and is likely to be the agent with the highest amount of points in all of Border.[1] Further proof of his abilities and status in Border is his position as captain of Tamakoma First, which was referred to as "Border's strongest squad"[citation needed], and that for the purposes of defense missions, he is considered the equivalent of one squad by himself.[2] He was also in charge of coordinating one of the two groups of Snipers during Galopoula's Invasion.[citation needed]

His individual strength is such that he was capable of stalling Hyuse and Viza at the same time and on his own (although Viza did not intervene until the end of the fight)[citation needed], and nearly managed to take out, or at least inflict considerable damage, to the former with Replica's visual support.[citation needed] According to Jin, drawn-out battles are his specialty.[citation needed] Nonetheless, Reiji is very powerful also in an open confrontation. Close quarters, long-range, sniping, even trap setting, Reiji is skilled in all these types of combat.[3] He stands out for his original use of Triggers and the way he can combine them to keep attacking in unpredictable ways. His ability to use one "trick" after the other[citation needed] is further increased by his personalized Trigger Holder, which enables him to store up to 14 Triggers instead of 8.[3] He was also able to make an educated guess about the nature of Organon's abilities after being defeated.[citation needed]

Triggers[]

Reiji Kizaki's Triggers
Current
Type White trion Normal Raygust

Classification AT Attacker
Kizaki is proficient with all modes of Raygust. He can use it both offensively and defensively. With his strength, he can overcome its heaviness to make effective attacks. By combining Raygust in Blade Mode with Thruster and shrinking its size, he can also launch a powerful ranged attack.[4]
Type White trion Normal Thruster
Kizaki Thruster1

Classification Optional Optional
Kizaki is capable of utilizing Thruster in a completely unconventional way. By holding Raygust's handle, he uses Thruster to propel his fist,[5] generating enough force to send a Rabbit flying several meters[6] and break through Lampyris's shield while also damaging Hyuse's trion body.[7] He can use two at the same time, one in each hand. His fighting style in this case makes him very similar to a boxer. He focuses on strikes with the full weight of the body behind them. He has also used Thruster to launch Raygust in Blade Mode at a distant target.[4]
Type White trion Normal Asteroid

Classification GU Gunner
Kizaki has two firearms loaded with Asteroid bullets: an assault rifle and a minigun. The latter seems to be rather heavy, forcing him to hold it with both hands, and impossible to aim accurately with, but it more than compensates for it with its extremely high rate of fire. Kizaki uses it for prolonged attacks without moving from his position. He can then switch to the assault rifle to increase his mobility.
Type White trion Normal Hound
Kizaki Hound (edited)

Classification GU Gunner
Kizaki uses Hound without entering the enemy's field of vision: after interposing a tall obstacle between himself and the opponent, he shoots Hound upwards, selecting the enemy's likely position as the target. This way, he can attack protected and unseen. If the opponent is quick enough to evade or dodge the first volley, Kizaki has already shot a second from another angle. He can also anticipate how the enemy will move, shooting along their path instead of at a single spot.
Type White trion Normal Meteor
Kizaki Meteora & Spider

Classification GU Shooter
Kizaki summons Meteor as a Shooter Cube. He combines it with Spider to create traps. If an unsuspecting opponent trips on the wire, it gets detached from the cube, causing it to explode violently. Since no trion is expended to make the cube move, the resulting explosion is quite powerful.
Type White trion Normal Egret
Kizaki Eaglet

Classification SN Sniper
Although it is not one of the Triggers normally stored in his Trigger holder, Kizaki equips Egret when his ability as a Sniper is required. Since he was in charge of a group of Snipers, and is Chika’s mentor, it can be inferred that he is still very proficient with it.
Type White trion Normal Full Arms
Reiji Full Arms

Classification Optional Optional
Kizaki's personal Trigger enables him to fire with up to four firearms at the same time, while also equipping him with two Raygusts in Shield Mode for defense. Its firepower as a result is overwhelming, and, thanks to the multiple weapons, Kizaki can select numerous targets at the same time. For this reason, however, it consumes Trion extremely quickly. The minigun and rifle fire Asteroid bullets, while the firearm on his right shoulder shoots Hound.
Type White trion Normal Radar
Reiji Radar

Classification Standard
A Standard Trigger that shows the position of any Trion body within range. Like Bail Out, it does not occupy a Trigger slot and is a standard piece of equipment of all Border agents.[8]
Type White trion Normal Bagworm
Kizaki Bagworm template

Classification Optional Optional
An Optional Trigger that prevents the user's position from appearing on the Radar. Kizaki uses it when he equips a Sniper Trigger.
Type White trion Normal Spider
Kizaki Spider anime

Classification Optional Optional
Kizaki uses Spider to lay trap by connecting it to a Meteor cube. Even if the enemy notices the traps, they will still be wary of moving in the area with wires, allowing Kizaki to control their position. Viza theorized that he uses the more obvious traps as bait for undetectable ones. He is capable of setting multiple of them while trading shots with an opponent without them noticing.
Type White trion Normal Shield
Reiji Shield

Classification Defense Defense
By putting a Shield around a firearm, Kizaki can keep shooting even while under attack. It compensates for the low mobility imposed by the minigun. This strategy is usually employed by Gunners, which further demonstrates Kizaki's versatility.

  1. Daisuke Ashihara: Q: Exactly what numbers are used to decide the Separate Position ranking and the Solo Overall ranking? Is it the highest solo points? Or the total points of all the weapons?
A: It is the highest of the solo points. The Solo Overall ranking is decided from all the weapon points of all the agents based on who has the highest. From all of the Shooters, Ninomiya's Asteroid points are the highest -> Shooter ranking no.1. From all weapons of all of the agents, Tachikawa's Kogetsu points are the highest -> Solo Overall no.1, like that. If there was a total point ranking then Reiji would probably be no.1.

  2. Daisuke Ashihara: Q: Is defense duty done on shifts?
A: Basically it is a 3 shift system with 5 Squads each. defense duty comes about once every 2 days, but frequently there are "mixed squads" being made up of agents who have free time or want more wages, so the actual frequency of work is about once every 3 days. Also, Reiji, Konami, Jin, and HQ Chief Shinoda each count as 1 squad.
