Arafune is a good leader, being the captain and seemingly the strategist of the Rank 11 B-Rank Unit.[1] Boasting 8349 usage points with Eaglet and 8266 with Kogetsu,[2] he is both a very skilled Sniper and a capable Attacker, who is knowledgeable enough to have instructed Kō Murakami, the current No. 4 Attacker.[3] He used to be quite high-ranking,[4] and, although he still participates in Rank Wars with Kogetsu, his skill has been noted to have dropped since he became a Sniper.[5] Nonetheless, he remains a powerful foe to most enemies, and his versatility somewhat compensates for the lack of close-quarters combat abilities of his teammates.[6] He held his own against Yūma Kuga with Hokari's support, and, even after the latter left, Arafune managed to slow his opponent down for a bit longer, although he was never able to hit him or force him to block his attacks without cover fire. He is also quite proficient as a Sniper, having reached Master Class in a eight months[4] and ranking 7th in stealth training during Sniper practice.[7]

Arafune has good reflexes, being the only person in his team to have survived Lamvanein's attack,[8] and, despite being locked in a duel with Kuga, he was able to notice the movements of other agents around him, which suggests he is rather observant.[9] He is also analytical as, by watching the logs, he managed to learn enough about Kuga's fighting style to be a challenge for him.[10] Despite losing both his legs in their duel, Arafune didn't miss a chance to quickly and accurately snipe Chika who had just revealed her whereabouts.[11]

Tetsuji Arafune's Triggers
Type: White trion Normal Bagworm
Chika Arafune Bagworm
Classification: OP Option
A Trigger which allows Arafune to become undetectable by Radar, which is essential to Snipers.[12] Although Attackers are usually hindered in their movements by Bagworm,[13] Arafune is capable of craftily incorporating it in his fighting style, using it to hide wounds that would otherwise attract the opponent's attention[14] or to obscure their vision before striking with Kogetsu.[15]

Type: White trion Normal Eaglet
Tetsuji Arafune (anime)
Classification: SN Sniper
Arafune's only Sniper Trigger is Eaglet, with which he is quite proficient. He managed to hit Lamvanein when the latter was flying,[16] and to take out Chika immediately after she revealed her presence and despite the loss of both legs.[11]

Type: White trion Normal Shield
Arafune Shield
Classification: Defense Defense
When facing multiple opponents, Arafune summons Shield to defend his blind spots.[17] He is first seen using it in Chapter 89.

Type: White trion Normal Kogetsu
Arafune kogetsu
Classification: AT Attacker
Arafune reached Master Class with Kogetsu and he is adept at wielding it, although he is no longer as skilled as he used to be, leading Shun Midorikawa to predict he would lose to Kuga.[5] He can swing it with only one hand and retain his balance despite having a damaged leg.[14] He occasionally incorporates other Triggers in his fighting style, such as Bagworm[4] and Shield.[17] Arafune first uses Kogetsu in chapter 89 (episode 41 in the anime).
