As a member of a unit in the upper tier of B-Rank, Kashio is a capable combatant. Although most teams generally prioritize regrouping during Rank Wars, Kashio's captain, a notoriously prudent strategist, has enough confidence in his abilities to let him act on his own.[1] He was able to hold his own against Minamisawa[2] and eventually defeat him with Kurauchi's assistence.[3] However, despite barely managing to block his sneak attack,[4] he was no match for Yūma, who easily cut off his arm.[5]
As an Attacker who also uses Hound, Kashio can instantly switch between close and mid-quarters combat,[6] and fight effectively even after the loss of an arm.[7] He is also moderately perceptive, realizing Ikoma would attack Karauchi in time to support him[8] and detecting Chika's hop while chasing her,[9] although it turned out to be a trick.
Like the rest of his unit, Kashio is known to be a top-level runner,[10] which allows him to cross the map quickly and pick off the weakest targets first, as well as to find out the hiding spots of Snipers.[1] He is quick enough to dodge a frontal Eaglet shot when he knows the Sniper's position.[11]

Classification Attacker

Kashio appears to be a moderately proficient swordsman, being capable of holding his own against an Attacker[12] who at one point reached Master Class.[13] Since he gave the opponent ground on multiple occasions,[14][15] it is possible that he is less skilled than Minamisawa, although he might have intentionally withdrawn to continue looking for Osamu Mikumo while fighting.[14] He was able to block an attack from Yūma which had been accelerated with Grasshopper, although he was thrown out of balance[4] and lost his arm to the superior Attacker right afterwards.[5] Kashio prefers to brandish Kogetsu with both hands in close quarters combat,[16][17][15] although he can compensate for its weight well enough to avoid attacks,[18][19] run,[20] and cut wires[21] even after the loss of his sword arm.[5] He keeps the sword conjured at all times.[22][23][24] He is first seen using it in Chapter 150. |
Type Normal | Hound | |

Classification Gunner
|
Hound gives Kashio a mid-ranged option[6] and makes him especially dangerous when he fights alongside his teammates in an open area.[25] He is capable of using it to attack an opponent from two different angles at the same time, making guarding against it with only one Shield very difficult at close range.[6][26] Kashio is first seen using Hound in Chapter 153. |
Type Normal | Grasshopper | |

Classification Optional
|
Kashio uses Grasshopper to jump out of the way of attacks which he would not be able to avoid otherwise[27] as well as to change his position in mid-air. He can cast it with enough precision to allow others to step on it.[8] He has been seen casting only undivided pads.[8][27] Kashio is first seen using Grasshopper in Chapter 154. |
Type Normal | Bagworm | |

Classification Optional
|
A Trigger that prevents the user's Trion signature from being detected by Radar, therefore concealing their position. Kashio uses it to approach weak targets undetected,[28] turning it off before engaging in a fight.[29] He is first seen using it in Chapter 152. |
Type Normal | Shield | |

Classification Defense
|
Kashio appears to prefer to cast Shield in its default hexagonal shape. When guarding against Satoshi Mizukami's Hound, he made it large enough to fully protect his head and torso, leaving only his legs exposed as he jumped away.[8] He is first seen using it in Chapter 154. |
